At Ortsac Capital Group, stewardship begins with our founders, Bobby and Sofia Castro. As first-generation entrepreneurs, they embody the belief that success is built, not given. From building their first business from the ground up to channeling its success into real estate, Bobby and Sofia chose an asset class that rewards patience, foresight, and a generational mindset. Beyond business, Bobby and Sofia are deeply committed to giving back. Bobby and Sofia built Ortsac on the principles that guided their own household for more than 35 years: integrity, discipline, and unity. Together, they have raised two children, welcomed a son-in-law and daughter-in-law into the family, and are now proud grandparents to three grandchildren—each representing the next chapter of the legacy they are building.

Bobby Castro

Bobby Castro is the Founder and Principal of Ortsac Capital Group, where he leads the firm’s investment strategy and oversees portfolio performance across a ~$700 million multifamily platform. With responsibility for sourcing and analyzing new opportunities, guiding portfolio growth, and ensuring long-term value creation, Bobby’s leadership continues to shape the vision and success of the family office.

A self-made entrepreneur, Bobby began his career with just $1,700 and a ninth-grade education. He went on to co-found Bankers Healthcare Group (BHG) in 2001 with a $25,000 investment, scaling it into a nationally recognized company that ultimately sold at a $1 billion valuation. Over 18 years at the helm, Bobby instilled a culture anchored in his philosophy of Positive Mental Attitude (PMA), inspiring teams to achieve extraordinary performance and positioning BHG among the Inc. 500/5000 list 13 times. His leadership was recognized nationally with honors such as Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2012, alongside features in Fortune, Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, and CNBC.

Alongside his wife of more than 30 years, Sofia, Bobby began investing in real estate early in his entrepreneurial journey, starting with small garden-style apartments and progressing to development and institutional multifamily assets. That disciplined, step-by-step approach became the foundation for Ortsac Capital Group, which today owns and manages approximately 2,500 multifamily units.

Bobby’s passion for real estate lies in its ability to preserve wealth, compound value, and create generational impact. Through Ortsac Capital Group, he continues to channel his entrepreneurial drive into building a legacy rooted in family values, patient investing, and institutional rigor—ensuring that every decision strengthens both the portfolio and the communities it serves.
